In this conference organized in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Basque Government (Bilbao, November 16) we will talk about the dimension that teaching work acquires and the elements for a shared understanding of it.
The Basque Education System of the 21st century is immersed in a process of transformation that is necessary to respond to current social challenges. To respond to this challenge before us, among other issues, we must reflect on the role of teachers and ask ourselves what form it should take over time and how it should be promoted and supported.
During this event we will share local and international approaches and experiences on the sphere of influence of the teaching profession and the evolution of its role. We will discuss the elements for a shared understanding of the dimension and meaning that the topic acquires.
Professor Hannele Niemi - professor and research director at the University of Helsinki and UNESCO Chair of Education Ecosystems for Equity and Quality of Learning - will offer us an international view of the debates and trends in relation to teaching. We will put this approach in dialogue with our reality through a conversation with local experts.
With the results of this conversation and the possibilities, concerns and topics to be explored in depth that we, along with those who attended, will identify, we will seek to place the results of the day in a desired future.
