Summary

This work aims to present the symbology used by the Basque-American communities of Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Havana to identify visually the Basque identity, by the means of a coat of arms and a national flag. In order to achieve this purpose, Basque-Americans used the so-called "flag of Euskal Erria" released on 1881, that remained almost unknown in the Basque Country, but was widely used among Basque emigrants in the Americas.
