Summary
In this work, the language ideologies of Spain's Partido Popular are analyzed using discourse analysis. Recurrent themes found include a biased interpretation of Spanish history, a strong desire to become a worldwide power and an intense clash with micro-nationalists. These tropes shape the discursive practices of the party and influence its language policies, harming Spain’s linguistic heritage.
