Summary

The Euskara translation of Licarrague´s Testamentu Berria or New Testament ; was printed in 1571 in Pierre Haultin the younger´s workshop under the aegis of Jeanne d´Albret. The 1579 Adventurous Travels of Martin De Hoyarsabal, pilot and captain of Ciboure, Labourd, were by no means printed in Ian Chouin´s workshop in Bordeaux as the title page itself misleadingly indicates. These Adventurous Travels were instead probably printed by the protestant Ian Portau of La Rochelle. It has since been worthy considering the investigation of the early La Rochelle 16th century printers, such as Barthelemy Breton, Pierre Haultin and ; especially Ian Portau, supposedly responsible for the false typography address of ; the Adventurous Travels of Martin De Hoyarsabal. Such an investigation, albeit ; shaking off a few given ideas, would shed some light on some new elements of ; interest to Basque history of that period.
