Summary

Ignacio Zuloaga and Antonio Ortiz Echagüe are two relevant examples of Basque artists that enjoyed a great international projection at the beginning of the20th century, practising a traditionalist realism that in the case of the former was centred in characteristic personages of Castillian plateau. In that of the latter this realism was focussed on popular types from foreign countries like Holland, Italy, Argentina, or Morocco.
