Summary

This paper includes an analysis of the evacuation, reception, organization and attention provided to Basque exiles in the Soviet Union during the Civil War. Particular prominence is given to the mechanisms of adaptation in a very different social and ideological model. The impact of the Second World War and postwar integration are also covered.
