Summary

This paper is a comparative study on the fisheries policies in Costa Rica and in the European Union. For this purpose, two case studies were carried out in which we focus on the sustainability of the fishing resource from a holistic fisherman-resource-market perspective and taking into account their legislative frameworks regarding fisheries issues.
