Summary

Lima, capital of the viceroyalty of Peru, was the first American territory in which the Basque community formed its first confraternity in the New World, under ; the advocation of Arantzazu. In this work a general analysis of the creation and historical evolution of this confraternity is introduced, as regrettably this confraternity has not been as studied as its equivalent in the other viceroyal capital, Mexico.
