Summary

Basque international projection in Africa in the 19th century is set within the context of the activities that Europeans carried out in that continent. Among other things, Antoine d´Abbadie travels to the north-eastern zone of Africa, through areas of what is now Egypt, Eritrea and Ethiopia. From the perspective of International Studies, the legacy of Antoine d´Abbadie, in addition to its travel, scientific and literary interest, is also a contribution to the contemporary foreign projection of the Basque Country.
