Summary

The discourse by the supporters of the Fueros system on the Basque identity opened the way for the formulation and consolidation of the doctrinal nucleus of Arana´s theories; the Basque national identity, and this is reflected in the so-called literatura fuerista or literature on the Fueros. The purpose of this work is to contextualize the use of that literature, as an ideological instrument, and to study the relationship between the support for the Fueros system and Basque Nationalism by means of such literary production.
