Summary

From an analysis of local festive mores, this article presents a theoretical and methodological proposal for the study of identities. It shows the way in which several styles of collective organisation provide very different models of identity, from the reciprocal recognition of the participants, to the appearance of politically conditioned symbolic complexes.
