Summary

The Mediatika. Cuadernos de Medios de Comunicación journal, has now reached its 11st issue. This issue, which is different from the rest, gathers what was said during these conferences, together with the works that were also presented there. A group of professors from the University of the Basque Country, who were, at the same time, members of Eusko Ikaskuntza, organised the conferences held in the Leioa Campus of that University. The first of such conferences was dedicated to institutional information and focussed on municipal communication and the new technologies. It received financial support from the Town Council of Basauri. The second conference, on the other hand, focussed on digital journalism and digital journalists. A numerous group of university students and professionals ensured the good functioning of both conferences. Although each conference evolved within its own topic, a common characteristic was the inter-disciplinary contributions. And this is also why both conferences are published within a single publication.
