Summary

In this issue no. 22 of Ondare we present an exhaustive and interesting research study on the architecture and decoration of the churches in Labourd. The architecture is also reflected in various facets: on one hand an analysis is made of the erudite residential architecture of Bilbao in the 18th century and also of the classicist religious architecture of the Duranguesado region. Finally the author offers an attractive study on the project of the garden-town of Loyola (Donostia), which, although it was not carried out completely, it does have some examples of really curious residences. The notebook contains two articles on two sculptors and their collaborators: one on the baroque sculptor, Juan Bautista de Suso and the second on José María Garrós Nogué?s workshop in Bilbao. Also in the sculpture section there is an itemised analysis on the Monument to the Sacred Heart in Bilbao. In addition to study on the altarpiece devoted to Saint Michael in the portico of the church of Garagarza in Mondragón, the Notebook is completed with an original piece of research on the charity dishes in Gipuzkoa, preserved to a large extent because they were not objects made in valuable metals.
