Summary

During World War II Catholics and Communists were preparing to dispute political power in the postwar period. The Church´s mobilization of the Virgin of Fatima as a symbolof anti-Communism provoked a series of imitative visions, particularly by children, across Europe, which continued throughout the Cold War. In Spain, in a context of religious revival, the visions were often by children of families on the Left in the Civil War.
