Summary

This second issue of volume 60 includes six essays: A. Anduaga conducts an analysis, in Basque, of patent applications in the iron and steel industry in the Basque Country between 1878 and 1936. C. García studies the contributions of the treatise on harmony written in the nineteenth century by Hilarión Eslava from Navarre. J.M. Gonzalez looks at the figure of the Basque architect Ignacio Mª de Michelena and his influence on the construction of Cáceres Town Hall. Meanwhile, R. Ibanez reflects on the relationship between mathematics and culture from the origin of the written number, the fourth dimension and cubism and mathematics and current literature. J. Martinez, in an article published in Basque, presents the results of his research on Manuel de Ynchausti and the reasons that led him to film the documentary series Eusko Ikusgayak in the 1920s. The Belgians J-P. Pourtois and H. Desmet present the conclusions of their study on "parents/co-educators", in which the introduction of the coeducational approach in the Education City contributes many positive factors. The issue is completed with three news items and six book reviews.
