Summary

In 1959, a Basque festival took place in Reno, Nevada. A main goal was to attract as many Basque residents as possible, as well as inducing a dynamic participation through dancing, singing and other kinds of folk Basque aesthetics. This paper addresses, first, this festival´s morphology ; and, second, the social content derived from the social, political and economic process within which it acquires signification.
