Summary

Gasconian was spoken in San Juan of Pasaia as there was a French colony in that village. Pasaia was divided in "La Banda de España" and "La Banda de Francia", and Gasconian used to be spoken in the latter though it was progressively used less and less and it ended up substituted by Spanish. The reason for this was that the Gasconian language structure was more similar to that of Spanish than to the Basque structure
