Summary

The present article analyzes the shortage of Basque immigrant labor in the sheep industry in the American West during the Second World War. More specifically, it examines the fight undertaken by Nevada woolgrowers for recruiting further Basque immigrant labor to respond to the wartime emergency between 1942 and 1944.
