Summary

The purpose of this work is to study the appearance of the topic "Zazpiak Bat" (The "Seven United Provinces") in literature in Basque and, concretely, in the context of the "Floral Games" promoted by A. d´Abbadie. The extension of this literary topic, especially declaimed by the poets, which has at the same time, become a motto for all the Basque provinces and for emigrants, reflects the feeling of unity of the Basques in those times. The common Basque language was the most important link for that feeling.
