This book covers the history of the International League of Friends of the Basques (Liga Internacional de Amigos de los Vascos -LIAV) from 1937, which marked the end of the Spanish civil war in the Basque Country up to the fifties. The book concentrates especially on all the demonstrations of support for Basque refugees in France (among wich the support of prestigious writers like François Mauriac, Jacques Maritain or Georges Bernarnos) as well as the help provided by this organization to the Basque government in exile, in its struggle against franquism.
