This article introduces the history of the "Sociedad Bascongada de los Amigos del País" founded by the Count of Peñaflorida in 1764, through letters and other documents. The work of the first years are on agriculture, industry, trade and civil architecture. The life of the Society is split into three parts: until the death of Peñaflorida (1764-1785), until the French invasion (1785-1794) and the third is the one in which the Society does not publish anything
