Ana Urkiza, President of Eusko Ikaskuntza-Basque Studies Society, and David Taberna, Director of El Diario Vasco, have signed an agreement with which both entities express their desire to collaborate in the promotion of talent and the exchange of knowledge in their respective areas.
The agreement, with a duration of three years that can be extended, establishes a collaboration framework aimed at disseminating the work carried out by Eusko Ikaskuntza with rigor and precision in order to communicate to society those issues that especially affect their situation. socio-cultural. In the same way, both entities consider it opportune to weave a network of qualified contacts that serve to delve into rigorous and quality content and that allow continuity to the informative commitment of El Diario Vasco.
As detailed in the annex, El Diario Vasco will report on the main activities and projects of Eusko Ikaskuntza in Basque and Spanish, and will cover the next Congress of Basque Studies, scheduled for 2024. For its part, Eusko Ikaskuntza will feed the newspaper with content in the form of interviews or opinion articles, and help identify those experts who can delve into the topics that are determined.
The agreement contemplates that representatives of El Diario Vasco and Eusko Ikaskuntza will attend and participate in the work commissions that are convened as a way of contributing to academic quality, the application of innovative and relevant research methodologies, as well as as well as the feasibility of the projects. A monitoring commission for the agreement will also be set up, which will meet at least once a year.
