Eusko Ikaskuntza and the Government of Navarre reiterate their willingness to promote and research the Basque language as a cultural and coexistence value.

Thanks to this agreement developed by Euskarabidea, issues related to the transmission and future of the Basque language will be addressed in Navarre, focusing on new demographics and intercultural coexistence.

The Second Vice President and Minister of Memory and Coexistence, Foreign Action and Basque Language, Ana Ollo, and the President of Eusko Ikaskuntza, Ana Urkiza, today renewed the collaboration agreement between both institutions with the aim of promoting and researching Basque as a cultural and coexistence value, in a signing ceremony that took place at the Palace of Navarra in Pamplona / Iruña.

This agreement aims to continue the study, research, and promotion of the Basque language carried out by Eusko Ikaskuntza in the Autonomous Community. The signing ceremony was also attended by the managing director of Euskarabidea-Navarre Institute of Basque, Javier Arakama, and the representative of Eusko Ikaskuntza in Navarre, Isabel Elizalde, and its member, Elorri Arkotxa.

The Provincial Council of Navarre, together with the Provincial Councils of Lava, Bizkaia, and Gipuzkoa, founded this institution in 1918. Since then, the relationship between the Government of Navarre and Eusko Ikaskuntza has been close and fruitful in analyzing and disseminating issues related to the culture and society of the territory.

The signed agreement will finance the action plan between Euskarabidea and Eusko Ikaskuntza, establishing two areas of work:
On the one hand, the " EzBerdin Berdinak " project, an artistic reflection on Basque identity focused on the values and future of the Basque language and Basque culture. Through a performance, the history, diversity, and transmission of Basque culture are represented. The audience is then invited to reflect on the importance of intercultural transmission and dialogue, creating a space for interaction and debate that will address issues such as identities, new demographics, and the future of Basque culture. The ideas derived will be compiled in a report.

On the other hand, the project " Elkarbizitzarako zubiak Nafarroan %u201D (Bridges for Coexistence in Navarre), whose objective is to promote intercultural coexistence. Qualitative and quantitative information will be collected on the attitudes and expectations of immigrants towards the Basque language and the cultural identity of Navarre. The aim is to promote an open vision of the Basque language and Navarrese culture among immigrants, creating opportunities for learning and participation and promoting a model of integration based on diversity.
