The winner of the 2024 Manuel Lekuona Award will be announced in the coming weeks.
Four candidates are competing for the award, which was established in 1983 to recognise personalities with a distinguished career in the fields of creation, research, cultural promotion or social development. They are:
- Juan Mari Beltr n, music logo
- Javier Busto Sagrado, composer, choir director
- I aki Gaminde Terraza, ling ist
- Mari Jose Olaziregi Alustiza, professor of Basque Philology
The final vote count will be weighted according to the following percentages: members of Eusko Ikaskuntza, 30%; Global Basque Community, 10%; and 60% Institutional Jury (made up of Eusko Ikaskuntza and representatives of relevant entities).
