Summary

The analysis of an 18th century Bizkaian judicial file will allow us, on one end, to linguistically approach the Spanish spoken in that area and, on the other hand, to describe aspects which are present in oral conversation -body language, phonic-auditory elements and gestures which substitute the mechanisms cohesion, multifunctional character of que-, as well as the articulation of these and other elements depending on conversational situations and pragmatic factors.
