Summary

The finding in Palestine of some cave paintings which are very similar to those of Altamira and to other caves in the cantabrian-pyrenaic region, which would correspond to the European magdaneliense period. As this type of paintings was in principle only found in the French - Cantabrian fringe, it was thought that the inhabitants were autochthonous of that area, but if it can be demonstrated that the findings in Palestine are older, it may be possible to deduce the Asian origin of the Basques
