Summary
The aim of the Doctoral Thesis is to analyse Basque society at the beginning of the 21st century. For this purpose, we ask the question "how is Basque identity built", responding to discourses- practices of young people on Facebook through digital ethnography. In addition to ratifying the importance of the social dimension and the ideas of different community models, we propose the concept of a digital country to understand Basque identity, community and society built on a foundation of both geographical and symbolic borders, with constant emphasis on the importance of the Basque State.
