Summary

The level of adolescent adiposity provides a strong prediction of adiposity in adults. The study covered the prevalence of excess weight and obesity in school children from Bizkaia using indicators for the amount and distribution of fat. Obesity of close to or over 10% is present in boys from 6-10 years as well as marked changes in fat patterning with age in both sexes.
