Summary

This paper offers a view of the purpose of the road network within the Basque Country, showing those aspects that cannot usually be seen by its users. It revises the amount of money invested and the complexity of the process that led to the works. Finally, the article covers the most important works carried out over the last few years and the future of a modern network in the Basque Country which will attempt to solve the Vitoria-Gasteiz-Eibar and Durango-Bergara-Beasain passages and finish the road network in the metropolitan area of Bilbao
