Summary

This work introduces the main results of a research project financed by the Language and Literature Section of Eusko Ikaskuntza that gathers and analyses some initial samples of the presence of seseo in bilingual speakers in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. Its conclusions are that the phonetic instances of seseo are quite varied are related to those of the sibilants subsystem in the Basque language.
