This article is a synthesis of the contemporary history of Navarre during the 1800-1936 period. The aspects that were reviewed were demography, the economy, society, the political framework and the identitary ideologies. As will be seen, the fact that several matters persist over time is emphasised. This is derived from the traditional character of Navarran society and economy, which also have a profound explanation in terms of political and identitary behaviours.
