In Alava, in the beginning of the XIII century there was, in the Basque language, an evolution of the phoneme "- r-" that changed to " -l -". This evolution is observed in the place-names that have the roots "uri" (town), "buru" (head, hill), "garai" (height) and "borin" (windmill). All the changes are explained
