Résumé

The Basque Contribution to the history of Psychology and Psychiatry is represented by two ontstanding Scientific figures. Dr. John Huarte de San Juan (1530-1591). With his work "An examination of Capacities for the Sciences" is considered as one of the instigators of Psychological renewal in Spain andas the Father of Applied Psychology a Science to emerge at the beginning of the 20th Century. Dr. Julian de Ajuriaguerra (1911-1993). His contríbution to psychiatry focusses in a special way on infantile (Child) psichyatry. His treatise "Child psychiatry" (1973) was to establish in a definitive form the independent nature Child psychiatry as a Science. Also worthy of note is the work "The Writing of the Child" (1964) and the Creation with Lebobici and Diaktine of the review "The Psychiatry of the Child" along with his teaching work in the College de France (1976-1981).
