The project ‘Cultural Rights. Participation and governance policies’ project, which Eusko Ikaskuntza launched in 2022, has compiled its conclusions in a report.
The work carried out over these three years has enabled us to transfer the debate on Cultural Rights to the Basque Country; to carry out a diagnosis of its situation here and now; to reflect collectively on the transformative potential of culture; to draw up an ideal and practical protocol for an inclusive, sustainable and egalitarian cultural initiative, as well as to compile and disseminate proposals that adequately guarantee Cultural Rights.
" Part of cultural politics. Culture is a qualitative study " is the title of the report whose presentation took place within the framework of the XIX Congress of Basque Studies and which is now freely available at the web . It is structured in two large chapters: the first contains a general description of the work programme: mission, objectives, theoretical framework, concepts, methodology, participants... The second determines the keys to outlining a map of Cultural Rights in Euskal Herria: limits and potential, and conclusions, proposals and recommendations relating to the three dimensions analysed (governance; participation and creation; production and management), among other aspects.
The report closes with an extensive bibliography and, as annexes, a "Protocol for the organization of a cultural event" and a list of audiovisual materials generated through seminars, symposia and conferences, podcasts and recordings of the Solasaldiak section.
