The study on the Promotion of the Basque Language in Navarre was presented to the political groups in the regional Parliament.
Promoted by Eusko Ikaskuntza with the support of the Government of Navarre (Euskarabidea), the study "Promotion of the Basque Language in Navarre based on discursive elements with social resonance" has allowed for a better understanding of the sociolinguistic reality of the Autonomous Community and of the values that resonate most with citizens regarding the promotion of the Basque language.
The premises of the research were the application of maximum rigor, the inclusion of all the voices of Navarrese society, and the conviction in the possibilities of dialogue between the interested parties.
This was explained before the Committee on Memory and Coexistence, Foreign Action and Basque of the regional Parliament by the researchers and scientific directors of the investigation, Xabier Erize and Carlos Vilches.
With nuances and from their own positions, the five groups represented in the regional chamber positively valued the work carried out by Eusko Ikaskuntza and Euskarabidea, congratulating themselves on their novel and constructive conclusions to the extent that they encourage the search for a consensus around the language.
