Answer to the article by Jaurgain on Basque place-names. Vinson considers that the names of places are very important for the study of the Basque language. However, he considers that the etymology of the words must only be studied after knowing in-depth the grammar, phonetic, syntax, vocabulary and morphology. Jaurgain it does not seem to think this, though he has the advantage of the Basque language being his mother tongue. Vinson refutes some of the etymologies given by Jaurgain in his article
