Manuel Lekuona Award

Information

The Manuel de Lekuona Award of Eusko Ikaskuntza was created in 1983 in recognition of the total work (opera omnia) of personalities of the Global Basque Community in favour of Basque culture.

Although the list of people who have been awarded the Manuel Lekuona Prize is extensive, we include, among others, Jorge Oteiza, Eugène Goyheneche, Micaela Portilla, Menchu Gal, Xabier Amuriza, Mari-Jose Azurmendi and Manuel Lekuona himself.

The prize takes the form of a bronze sculpture created by Remigio Mendiburu.
