The artist Bel n Moreno Zaldibar was awarded the competition, which received 44 proposals.
Weeks ago, the poster for the 19th Congress of Basque Studies to be held in October at the Europa Palace in Vitoria-Gasteiz was presented. It is titled Kohesioa and is the work of the Guipuzcoan artist Bel n Moreno Zaldibar.
To choose the poster, Eusko Ikaskuntza called an open competition in which 44 proposals were submitted, among which four finalists were selected and put to a vote among members.
In the opinion of the jury, the work of Bel n Moreno Zaldibar %u201C is fully aligned with the message of the congress and its objectives%u201D, and presents an innovative and creative approach in terms of design, typography, colors and style, in addition to be easily adaptable to different supports.
Since 1918, Eusko Ikaskuntza has periodically organized Basque Studies Congresses to promote research and the Basque cultural personality, along with the development of strategic responses to the needs and challenges of Basque society. Historically renowned artists such as Antonio de Guezala (II Congress), Alberto Arrue (III), Eduardo Lagarde (V), Andrés Nagel (XI) or Nestor Basterretxea (XII), among others, have historically contributed to the design of its posters.
