Summary

In 1968, and coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Euskaltzaindia-Real Academia de la Lengua Vasca, a Congress was held in Arantzazu organized by the said Academy in order to find a solution to the problem of common literary language. It was the Academy itself which asked Mitxelena to create a plan or general outline, and to set out the ways of carrying out this objective
