Summary
To know how one´s forebears lived, one must recur to the archives and to the tales of foreign travellers to the Basque Country. The author mentions some men from Bilbao that wrote books that described Bilbao, its peoples, the city, its mores. One of them was Adolfo de Aguirre, who published "Excursions and Recollections" in 1871. Goicoechea, Unamuno and Arriaga were some of the other authors.
