Summary

Between 1180 and 1190 San Sebastián is repopulated with Gascons from Bayonne, possibly called in by King Sancho the Wise in order to create a port and to market the products originating from Navarre. Since they were all from Bayonne, possibly the language they used was Gascon. The author carries out a linguistic study of a text from 1304 written in Gascon
