Summary

The articles of the Memorial de los Pirineos, the official government newspaper, are considered the main sources. As from this basis, various characters (Alfred Bellemare, Bertrand Barrère or viscount Henri de Belsunce) or events (the sailing of the Léopoldina-Rosa and the preparations thereof) are emphasised in a context of the struggle of public institutions against expatriation and will be the line followed by this study.
