Summary
The publication of these documents denotes considerable headway has been made in dealing with the medieval reality of these two neighbouring towns in the Bajo Deba, which until now had very scarce published information on that era and always had to refer to very concrete quotations. There is a significant circumstance: the most ancient document conserved, dated in 1409, affects neighbours of both towns. It is about an agreement on assessment payment to the council of San Andrés de Eibar, which indicates that there was a close relationship that has always been maintained by both communities. Another of the singularities of this work is that among the various documents there is a register of the walling in of neighbours? properties in Soraluze and a an allotment of communal fields in Eibar, which are both documents of a special value because of the toponimic and anthroponimic wealth they provide.
