Summary

Romanesque art came before Ogival art. There are not many primitive Romanesque remains in the Basque Country, although there are plenty form the height of the Romanesque era just before the advent of Ogival art mainly in Navarre and in Alava. Art in the Basque Country continued to evolve albeit slowly and the Renaissance left us plateresque or baroque altars but nonerigorously classic
