Summary

Informatics mark the change from an industrial to the post-industrial society, just like the steam engine marked the passage from the pre-industrial to the industrial society. The author explains the terms "robotics" and "telematics", micro-computers and macro-computers. The micro-computers may increase individualism which makes people stop belonging to large groups such as the Church, Trade Unions, Political Parties, etc. and makes them belong to micro - societies
