Summary

The article presents an analysis of the fishing sector in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country as a whole, using multivariate techniques in order to obtain both an index of the size of the social sector and a dependency index of the fishing municipalities within the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country. On such indexes groups are established using a conglomerate analysis. In this way, the municipalities are sorted out and classified in terms of dependency.
