Summary

Saint Francis Xavier was born in the castle of Javier which it is at the moment out of the navarrian area where the Basque language is spoken. There are some documents that prove that the Basque language used to be spoken in that area. In a letter he wrote from missions, he said that he coud not unders the natives because he spoked "biscayan". To some researchers it means that he spoke Basque and to others Spanish
