Summary
This new volume of Fuentes documentales medievales del País Vasco gathers in its 111 documents not only the history of a coastal municipality in Gipuzkoa, but also a series of interesting documents referring to other neighbouring or nearby villages, such as Deba, Getaria, Zestoa or Mutriku. The transcripted documentation starts in a period that took place much before the conformation of the village itself; in this sense the close relationship it maintained with the convent of Santa María de Roncesvalles is especially noteworthy both for the creation and for the ulterior development of the municipality.
