Summary

Víctor Patricio de Landaluze Uriarte (1830-1889), from Bilbao, was born into a wealthy family of merchants from Biscay. He received his training at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid, after which he moved to Cuba, where he developed his artistic career, mainly focusing on painting and drawing, which led him to become the promoter and highest representative of Cuban costumbrismo.
