Summary

In Basque speaking territory, the centuries-long situation of bilingualism has favoured linguistic transfers between the languages in contact. In this context, apart from linguistic aspects, it is necessary to consider the subjective attitudes of the speakers to words both languages, the criteria of the Administration in their promotion and the predominance of languages according to their level of use.
